DestinationQ is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the tourism industry. The partnership approach involves ongoing engagement between industry and government to debate and agree on key priorities to drive growth and jobs in Queensland's tourism industry. The most visible element of the partnership is the annual DestinationQ Forum where industry and Ministers come together to discuss key issues facing the industry and agree on priorities to support the industry achieve its long-term vision for success.

As part of DestinationQ, a 20-year plan for the industry was developed - Destination Success. This plan provides a shared purpose and a common goal between the industry and Government. As the Queensland Government's lead marketing, destination and experience development, and major events agency, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) plays an integral part in the delivery of this plan.

Partnership agreements between TEQ and Queensland's 13 regional tourism organisations were developed in 2012 to ensure the pursuit of shared goals for tourism in each destination between now and 2020.
