Brisbane abounds as leisure destination of choice

Brisbane’s appeal as a vibrant short break destination is the centrepiece of a new campaign to attract more domestic visitors to the Queensland capital.

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO, Leanne Coddington, said the campaign was launched in partnership with Australian Traveller magazine and Brisbane Marketing to showcase Brisbane’s vibrant leisure experiences to Sydney and Melbourne residents.

“Brisbane offers amazing leisure holiday opportunities and this nation-wide campaign is designed around those defining experiences,” Ms Coddington said.

“For this campaign we have teamed up with Australian Traveller magazine to promote Brisbane through a 36-page spread in their June/July edition, which is now on sale.

“A range of print and digital holiday deals are in now market with key accommodation partners across Brisbane city, Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island.

“Australian Traveller has also created a microsite to offer a digital foray into the best of Brisbane to inspire visitors from the southern states to head north for a holiday.”

Ms Coddington said Brisbane was an ideal destination for a range of memorable experiences.

“Brisbane has a wealth of holiday charm from our relaxed, urban outdoor lifestyle and premier events scene to stunning natural attractions right on our doorstep,” Ms Coddington said.

“The city welcomed more than 5.7 million domestic visitors from around Australia in 2015 who spent more than $3.5 billion dollars, increases of 11 and 12 per cent respectively.”
