Queensland on Stage New Zealand 2017

07 June 2017

Queensland’s tourism attractions and visitor experiences were on show for New Zealand trade partners and media as part of Queensland on Stage New Zealand 2017 hosted by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ).

A record 50 Queensland businesses met with New Zealand travel agents, product managers, reservation staff and media at Tangalooma Island Resort from 4-6 June, showcasing some of Queensland’s best products and regions.

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO, Leanne Coddington, said Queensland on Stage New Zealand 2017 was a sell-out event that had received strong interest from Queensland sellers and New Zealand buyers.

“With a record number of Queensland tourism businesses involved this year, this event provides a valuable platform to sell Queensland’s experiences, products and destinations to one of our largest international visitor markets,” she said.

“Our vision is to inspire the world to experience the best address on earth. This is a great opportunity to showcase some of Queensland’s finest experiences, tour operators and products.”

“New Zealand is a growing market for Queensland with 447,000 visitors spending $598.9 million in 2016, increases of 5.5% and 7.7% respectively.”

Queensland on Stage New Zealand is an initiative of TEQ in partnership with Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia.

The pre-event famil program was supported by several Regional Tourist Organisations including Brisbane Marketing, Visit Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast Tourism and Events, Capricorn Enterprise, Gladstone Area Promotion and Development, Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism, Southern Queensland Country, Townsville Enterprise, Tourism Whitsundays, Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Gold Coast Tourism and the Outback Queensland Tourism Association.
