Through the Australian Government’s Destination Visitor Survey (DVS) program, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), Tourism Research Australia (TRA) and the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) jointly funded a research project to produce 2013-14 Regional Tourism Satellite Accounts (TSA) results for Queensland and South Australian tourism regions. Deloitte Access Economics were engaged to undertake the project. TSAs evaluate tourism industry activity and performance within a national accounting framework. The regional TSA measures both the direct and indirect impacts of tourism on the economy and includes metrics such as Gross Regional Product and employment.
This information was previous published at the National and State level, and is now available at the tourism region level. The results in the fact sheets below represent FY 2013-14 data and this information will be updated on an annual basis.
