About the Storytelling Workshop - Mackay

Tourism and Events Queensland invites tourism operators to attend the Storytelling Experience Development Workshop - Mackay.

Everyone loves a good story; it is through stories that we all connect. But what makes storytelling successful is the ability to use words and actions to tell a story that captures the imagination of your audience.

Facilitated by Russel Boswell from Boz Oz this workshop will provide your business with insights and practical steps to discover, develop, deliver and share stories with your guests. The workshop offers hands on learning and practical industry examples. It covers:

  • How you can use storytelling within your tourism business
  • What makes a great story
  • What stories will best connect with your guests
  • How to use different storytelling techniques to capture the imagination and attention of your guests.

If you’ve ever wanted to become a better story teller and improve your visitor experience, this is a program not to be missed!

‘Tell stories that your visitors will want to share with their friends and family when they get back home, or even better on social media’

Mentoring Program to follow the Storytelling Workshop - Mackay

TEQ are offering ten tourism businesses a complimentary one-on-one mentoring session. All sessions will follow the Storytelling Workshop on 10 May and will provide operators with the opportunity to talk about their learnings and their stories in a one-on-one environment with workshop leader, Russell Boswell.

If you’re committed to implementing storytelling and looking for expert, one on one advice, sign up to TEQ’s Storytelling Mentoring Program.

This program will be delivered by storytelling guru Russell Boswell. As the manager of Savannah Guides Ltd, Russell runs Australia’s leading tour guide organisation and has assisted tourism businesses across Australia to improve their visitor experience through storytelling.

Expressions of Interest (attached when you register for the workshop) will be assessed and operators will be notified if they have been accepted into the mentoring program by 15 May, 2017 (following the Storytelling Workshop).
