Tourism and Events Queensland invites tourism operators to attend the Storytelling Experience Development Workshop in The Whitsundays.
Everyone loves a good story; it is through stories that we all connect. But what makes storytelling successful is the ability to use words and actions to tell a story that captures the imagination of your audience.
Facilitated by Mark Olsen from EarthCheck Consulting this workshop will provide your business with insights and practical steps to discover, develop, deliver and share stories with your guests. The workshop offers hands on learning and practical industry examples. It covers:
- How you can use storytelling within your tourism business
- What makes a great story
- What stories will best connect with your guests
- How to use different storytelling techniques to capture the imagination and attention of your guests

Mentoring Program to follow Storytelling Workshop - The Whitsundays
TEQ are offering ten tourism businesses a complimentary one-on-one mentoring session. All sessions will be held in the weeks following the Storytelling Workshop on 30 May (by phone) and will provide operators with the opportunity to talk about their learnings from the workshop and their businesses unique stories in a one on one environment with workshop leader, Mark Olsen.

This program will be delivered by storytelling guru Mark Olsen. Mark is one the nations leading advocates for experience development and storytelling. Expressions of Interest (attached when you register for the workshop) will be assessed and operators will be notified if they have been accepted into the mentoring program by 5 June 2017.
