Airports welcome southern arrivals

There have been emotional scenes around the state as flight-loads of visitors arrived from New South Wales and Victoria on Tuesday following the re-opening of
Queensland's border, with Queensland's airports and tourism industry providing a warm welcome.
Aviation figures reveal Queensland would welcome 213,000 inbound seats this week, an increase of 48,500 seats compared to last week, with Cairns up by 24 per cent, Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) up by 39 per cent, Gold Coast up 203 per cent, Sunshine Coast up by 208 per cent, and Hamilton Island up 29 per cent.
