Brisbane to host the 2017 DestinationQ Forum

04 July 2017

Tourism businesses, industry groups and stakeholders are invited to be part of Queensland’s leading tourism industry forum, DestinationQ, in Brisbane on 9-10 November 2017.

Tourism and Major Events Minister Kate Jones said this year’s DestinationQ forum would coincide with the annual Queensland Tourism Awards gala ceremony and Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s Indigenous tourism event on 8 November 2017.

“Since the first DestinationQ forum in 2012, this is the first time the event has been held in Brisbane,” Ms Jones said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for people from all areas of our state to be part of two major tourism industry events here in Brisbane.

“Now in its sixth year, the forum is a great opportunity for all those with an interest in the tourism industry to engage with industry champions, opinion leaders, government and peers.

“Last year’s forum in Mackay was a huge success and we’ve focused on making this year’s event even bigger and better, with more opportunities for industry to network, participate, and celebrate success alongside the annual Queensland Tourism Awards.”

Ms Jones said there would also be other opportunities for tourism businesses to get involved, with regional DestinationQ events in Bundaberg, Gladstone and Toowoomba.

“An investment in tourism is an investment in jobs and delivering positive outcomes for the tourism industry in Queensland,” she said.

“I am looking forward to taking part in the forum and meeting our key stakeholders as well as the many tourism operators who work hard every day in this industry.

“I encourage all tourism businesses to get involved in the 2017 DestinationQ Forum on 9-10 November.”

The 2017 DestinationQ forum is being delivered as a partnership with the Queensland Government and the Queensland Tourism Industry Council. For more information or updates on the 2017 DestinationQ Forum and DQ regional events, please visit
