ProBlogger returns to Gold Coast

29 August 2014

The Gold Coast will host more than 500 leading digital influencers with a combined audience of more than 35 million at the 2014 ProBlogger Conference starting today.

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Leanne Coddington said TEQ was proud to again partner with ProBlogger to see the event return to the Gold Coast in 2014.

“To host one of Australia’s largest blogging conferences in Queensland provides a significant opportunity to capture the attention of millions of potential travellers,” said Ms Coddington.

“TEQ has partnered with regional tourism organisations to provide delegates with the opportunity to experience Queensland’s destinations first-hand, inspiring them to share their impressions with their own networks.”

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Jann Stuckey said growing Queensland’s online reputation as Australia’s premier holiday destination was an important part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to double annual overnight visitor expenditure from $15 billion to $30 billion by 2020.

“Last year marked the first time that the ProBlogger Conference was held outside of Melbourne, with 75 per cent of delegates attending from interstate and 60 per cent of delegates extending their stay to experience the ‘Famous for fun’ holiday destination,” said Ms Stuckey.

Social media expert and ProBlogger owner, Darren Rowse said he was thrilled to bring the ProBlogger event back to the Gold Coast.

“The ‘Famous for fun’ atmosphere of the Gold Coast, coupled with a spectacular offering of tourism products and stunning landscapes, is a winning combination for another memorable and productive ProBlogger Conference,” said Mr Rowse.

“Last year there were over 13,000 event-related tweets in just three days. With a sell-out event and a fantastic line-up of speakers, we’re looking at another successful gathering of digitally savvy and connected online influencers on the Gold Coast.”

The ProBlogger Conference will run from Friday 29-Saturday 30 August at the QT Hotel, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast.
