Through the Australian Government’s Destination Visitor Survey (DVS) program, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and Tourism Research Australia (TRA) jointly funded a research project to produce 2015-16 regional tourism satellite account (TSA) results for Queensland tourism regions. Deloitte Access Economics were engaged to undertake the project. The TSAs evaluate tourism industry activity and performance within a national accounting framework. The regional TSAs measure both the direct and indirect impacts of tourism on the economy and include metrics such as gross regional product and employment.

This information was previously published at the national and state level, and is now available at the tourism region level. The results in the fact sheets below represent financial year 2015-16 data and this information will be updated on an annual basis.
